Building a Sequence: For Yourself and for Others

With Dustin Maxwell | November 20th – 22nd

Building a Sequence with Dustin Maxwell

Learn to build clear, purposeful yoga sequences around a focus pose, body part, or energetic state.

A well-structured yoga sequence gently opens the body and prepares the practitioner for success—whether the goal is a peak posture, a breath practice working with a specific prāṇa, a meditation that unlocks the mind, or simply a life better lived.

With thousands of possibilities, how do you decide what to include, in what order, and with what variations? In this hands-on intensive, you’ll learn a repeatable framework to build, refine, and adapt sequences for personal practice and confident teaching.

1. Focus Posture

Deconstruct blueprint postures and warm up component body regions so complex shapes feel safe, natural, and accessible.

2. Targeted Anatomy

Structure classes around specific body requests—hips, shoulders, spine—utilizing strategic counterposes and functional adaptations.

3. Energetic States

Harness the classical gunas and prāṇic energies to consciously evoke states of activation (brāhmaṇa), pacification (laṅghana), or balance (samāna).
